Teen Drivers Buckle, but Teen Passengers Don’t

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/08/26/teen-drivers-buckle-but-teen-passengers-dont/index.html

My article this week is about how people are concerned about drivers buckling up and now the passengers. The article is trying to convince young drivers that it's not only important to buckle up when your in the driver seat but passenger too. This article interests me because i always buckle up when i drive but i normally don't when i'm with someone else in their car. I didn't know about this article but i was aware that people normally don't buckle up when their in the passenger seat. 3 things that i've learned from this article would be ; (1)that studies show that it’s more than just teen drivers who are at risk — 40 percent of teen motor-vehicle deaths involve passengers. (2)59 percent of students always used seat belts when driving, but only 42 percent always buckled up as passengers. (3)Among girls, 67 percent wore seat belts while driving, but the number dropped to 46 percent when girls moved out of the driver seat. My question for the article would be.. what made someone decide to write this article.

article..School system seeks fewer left turns for buses

http://www.boston.com/news/local/maine/articles/2008/08/21/school_system_seeks_fewer_left_turns_for_buses/

1. What is this article about? a school system in maine is urging its bus drivers to change their routes by making fewer left turns, a change in which they think it will save on fuel costs.

2. Who is the audience? How do you know? the community in Fort Kent

3. Why does this article interest you? because i'm a driver that has to pay for gas, and i was unaware that making fewer left turns would cut back on fuel costs because you reduce the amount of time spent idling in traffic waiting to turn.

4. Did you know anything about this before the article? What? no i didn't know anything about this, that is why it interests me.

5. What are at least three things that you learned from reading this article? Explain. i learned that making fewer left turns cuts back on fuel costs, and The changes at UPS saved 3 million gallons of gas. and changing the route changes would help the budget

6. What is one further question you have about this article? Where did you come up with this idea, and how did you know it would work.
